Along one of northwest Arkansas's favorite layouts, Prairie Creek
Country Club offers 18 of the most challenging holes of golf that you
can find. Prairie Creek was founded in 1968 and open to
the public with a par of 72. The fairways contain Bermuda grass
that flow into the Bent grass greens. Most of the greens have
large mounds that create some difficulty around the greens to get up
and down for par.
White Tees: 6574 yards, 129 slope, 72.9 USGA rating
Red Tees: 5921 yards, 118 slope, 71.9 USGA
rating
A challenging Joe Sanders design cut through the
scenic Ozark mountains, Prairie Creek Country Club rewards long,
accurate hitters and expert putters. The upper nine runs along the top
of a hill, the bottom nine is in a valley where the wind always seems
to be in your face. Though not the longest course around, its slope
and USGA ratings testify to its inherent toughness.
On June 8, 2000, the
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reviewed Prairie Creek Country
Club and named it the 9th best public course in Arkansas.
