A Day To Remember
An empty space
Where two towers once stood proud
Many a family missing at least one face
And across America people wonder how
How anyone could take life
And consider it savorable
So to avenge these deaths we will strife
We will search under every gable
No physical marks burden
A carefully shaped building
In front of a cemetery, a car parks
The driver with sorrow is filling
As a family mourns a fallen husband, and father
They are feeling torn
You can hear the tears of his daughter
He will never know his son, just born
The sight of the end of an unfortunate
flight
Small, when placed side to side
But it marks the place people began to stand and fight
9/11 changed the world
It was a day to remember
Firefighters, theirs and our, flag unfurled
I hope that forever we remember

This poem was written by my 15 year old grandson, Jeff, and forwarded to me by his grandma, my wife Helen. It is interesting to see his perspective of 9/11 in this poem. It truly shows the far reaching effects of that infamous day, Good work Jeff!
