The True Beauty
Some say it's in the
eye of the beholder,
Others say it's only skin deep.
But there is truly a real beauty,
That can not be seen by the naked eye.
This inner sweetness and purity of heart,
Is far more beautiful than the outward kind.
It's a beauty that's hard to see,
Through our glasses of prejudice and bias,
Especially when we're looking at ourselves.
This beauty is like the many reflected colors,
Floating out from the shore on a clear moonlit night,
Or a universe filled with millions of sparkling stars,
Unobstructed by clouds or smog.
It's a beauty that mirrors the heart.
A loving, a caring, a desire for others welfare,
Even at one's own expense.
It causes hearts to pine, artists to paint,
Poets to write and me to love you.
