Be Kind To Old People

Be kind,
Especially to older people.
They've seen their days,
Done their time,
Made their contribution.
For the most part,
They've tried,
To do their best,
To serve well,
Their families and country.
Ignore their idiosyncrasies,
Their gruff ways,
Their memory lapses,
Their "my way" attitudes.
Love them,
Respect them,
Learn from them,
Care for them,
For all too soon,
You'll be wearing their shoes!
