Commend The Living
Before it's too late,
Say the words now!
Don't let the time pass,
So those heartfelt words,
Fall on unhearing ears.
Commend the living,
Instead of praising the dead,
So honor's expressions,
Can be heard and felt,
And acknowledged in life.
Eulogizing the dead soothes,
Only the speakers and hearers,
But does nothing for the departed,
The ones who should have heard,
And been blessed the most.
Don't let regret,
Lay it's guilt at your door,
For the things left unsaid.
Applaud the living,
Place your gift in their treasure bank.
That gift of joy, that gift of life,
To make their living more bearable.
Let them know how you feel now,
Share your love and admiration,
Rather than waiting until its too late.
