Memorial Day

Memorial Day, a remembrance,
Of times and places past,
Of valiant fathers and mothers,
Of brave buddies and pals,
Gone off to war,
Never to return.

They went for a cause,
To keep their world free,
From tyranny and inhumanity.
They gave their ultimate,
A sacrifice of life,
To continue freedom's reign.

Remember not their death,
But the life they lived.
Remember their sacrifice,
And stand strongly behind them,
That their death be not in vain,
And their cause not be forgotten.

Remember, also, the gallant Warrior,
Who chose all others above Himself,
Who chose abuse, indignity, and death,
To fight a war no other human could,
Ultimately preserving freedom for all.
Remember Christ our Lord.
