Hearing The Heart

In the middle of the night,
During nightmarish dreams,
No words are spoken,
But the heart loudly screams.
Could you hear it?

When life's pressures are heavy,
With depression quite near,
Despite a stiff upper lip,
The heart calls out in fear.
Could you hear it?

When love is lost,
And loneliness invades the soul,
The desire is for life to stop,
But the heart cries out to be whole.
Could you hear it?

No, only One can hear that voice,
The One who will meet every need.
He's the searcher of hearts,
Who desires that we all be freed.
God can hear it!
