| Located beneath the majestic Mt. Baldy in the beautiful city of Rancho
Cucamonga, Chaffey is one of the oldest community colleges in the state.
Founded in 1883 as an extension of the University of Southern California, the
college originally shared facilities with Chaffey High School in Ontario.
Moved to its current located in 1966, the college has experienced phenomenal
growth in the last decades. when the college was first opened, people
complained that it was way out in the boondocks. Since that time the
community has grown up around it, and now the new 210 freeway links the college
conveniently to its clientele.
