1999 Dakota R/T

First we go...

Well I finally bit the bullet and got some drag slicks. The Micky Thompson 28x12.5x15 ET Streets really hook up HARD. They kept me running consistant all night long.

When you drive a Mopar...all the rest is just a blur!!!

...Then we show

Less than a week and a half after the Wichita Area Mopar show, I loaded up my R/T and headed for the 1st annual National Dakota R/T meet in Detroit, Michigan. I had an incredible time with all of the R/T'er I met up there. I made a lot of new friends, and I got a ton of new ideas for my R/T. As soon as I recover from the meet the mods will start again.

Here is a shot of my baby near Niagra falls. After the national meet, the road trip continued up from Michigan into Canada. From there I went across Canada to Niagra Falls with a group of R/Ts. Since I live in Kansas, and doubt I'd ever be within driving distance of the falls again it seemed like the right thing to do.

Time to add some BOOM to the tunes.

Now, the factory system sounds good in my opinion, but after spending over 100 hours of driving time in the truck in a span of a week, I came to the conclusion that it is seriously lacking in low end bass. My cure for that was simple. ROCKFORD FOSGATE! (and a lot of it)

I custom built the two boxes that hold the 4 Rockford Fosgate 8 ohm Punch 8" subs wired in parrallel. Each box has about 1 1/2 lbs of polyfil to get a real tight hit. I chose the Rockford Fosgate Punch 160a2 to drive them. I had planned on bridging them across the amp, but they hit so hard in standard left/right configuration that I left them alone.

The only way I could get the Punch amp to fit was to leave the end caps off. As you can see, it fit perfectly in the gap behind the console on the rear wall.
