The National Society DAR (NSDAR) awards several scholarships through the DAR Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin. All four-year, or more, scholarships must be for consecutive years and are renewable only upon review and approval of annual transcript by respective NSDAR Chairman. All applicants must be citizens of the United States and attend an accredited college or university in the United States. The ONLY exception is the American Indian Scholarship which is also available for vocational training. Please check the web page on our National Society of DAR web site for detailed information.

The Mildred Louise Brackney Scholarship
The Longman-Harris Scholarship

American Indian Scholarship:

The American Indians Committee of the DAR awards this scholarship to Native Americans. This award is intended to help Native American students of any age, any tribe, in any state striving to get an education. All awards are judged based on financial need and academic achievement. This scholarship is intended to help Native American college/university and technical school students of any age, any tribe, in any state at the undergraduate or graduate level. Graduate students are eligible; however, undergraduate students are given preference. Applicants must be Native Americans (proof of American Indian blood is required by letter or proof papers) in financial need and have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher. There will be no exceptions.
