PENINSULA VOLKSWAGEN CLUB

MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 1ST, 2002

 

1. Reports: The Peninsula Volkswagen Club met at Steve and John=s Restaurant for the December meeting. President Eichelberger opened the meeting. There were 16 people in attendance including 14 club members. In the absence of Secretary Frey, the reading of the November minutes was deferred to the next meeting. President Eichelberger, acting as interim Treasurer, reported a balance of $. Expenditures and receipts were $ for Steve and John’s, the 50/50 drawing netted $, and the tip basket added $. He made a motion that the treasurer’s report be accepted as read. The motion carried. New club members are Thomas C. Norris and Becky Crenshaw. They paid $15.00 for their family membership.

2. Web site Update: Vice President Robert Alexander, web master, continues to work on our web.

3. Club Activities: The Hampton Holiday Parade was on the 23rd of November. The Club had 5 vehicles in the parade. The lineup at the new Sentara Hospital parking lot was not too well organized, however in the end everything worked out. The crowd control was much better than previous years. Anniversary dinner was discussed. It will be held on the 2nd of February in conjunction with the February meeting with cake and ice cream served after the evening meal. Thomas Norris announced that the VW Club of Tidewater had a very successful “Toys for Tots” drive.

4. Officer Nominations: The Secretary position must be filled in that Rex Frey will not be continuing in that office. Candidates for the following were nominated:

 

President: Gregg Anderson

 

Vice President: Robert Alexander

 

Treasurer: Charles Eichelberger

 

Secretary: Nomination to be made from the floor

 

7. Adjournment: The 50/50 drawing netted the Club $, the tip basket yielded $, for a total income of $. Expenses were $ to Steve and John’s for use of the room. Family membership for Becky Crenshaw and Thomas Norris was $15.00. The next meeting will be January 5th. Many thanks to President Eichelberger for taking notes for Rex Frey so he could write these minutes. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
