PENINSULA VOLKSWAGEN CLUB
MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 3RD 2002
1. Reports: The Peninsula Volkswagen Club met at Steve and
John=s Restaurant for the November meeting. President Eichelberger opened the
meeting at 7:02 PM. There were 19 people in attendance. Secretary Rex Frey read the minutes of
the previous meeting and made a motion that the minutes be approved as written. Motion carried and the minutes were
accepted. President Eichelberger,
acting as interim Treasurer, reported a balance of $. Expenditures and receipts were $ for Steve and
John’s, $ for registration with the Virginia State Corporation
Commission, the 50/50 drawing netted $, and the tip basket added $. He made a motion that the report be
accepted as read. The motion
carried.
2. Web site
Update: Vice President
Robert Alexander, web master, continues to work on our web.
3. Club
Activities: The Hampton Holiday Parade will be on the 23rd of November. President Eichelberger will coordinate
with the city on details. In
general, the pre-parade staging will be on Hampton Roads Center Parkway at the
foot of Coliseum Drive starting time of 9:30 AM. The Club participants should be there at 08:30 to allow time
for decorating their cars. Come in
via North Armistead Avenue. The
Club Anniversary dinner was discussed.
It is usually held in February.
There will be further discussion during the December meeting. It was noted that most of the regular
weekly or monthly car shows have been discontinued until the spring of 2003.
4. Handouts: The VW Club of Tidewater is promoting a
“Toys for Tots” event on 10 November at 717 North Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach. Gim Shek had information on VW car
parts for sale.
5. Guests : .
Matt Hagist was the guest of Richard Hendrik. Matt has a keen interest in Volkswagens and has worked on
Bahas, regular VWs, etc. Rex
announced that the dues for members during years 2000, 2001, and 2002 pay no
dues, however new members pay $15.00 for the first year. Subsequent dues will be determined by
the Club budget and financial conditions.
6. Technical
Discussion: Gim Shek located some copper containers
at the Dollar Tree stores that can be used to enhance the inside of a VW wheel.
7. Adjournment:
