October 5th 2003 Meeting

I.               Call to Order: President Greg Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:06pm.

II.             Reports:

a.     Secretary’s Report:

b.     Treasurer’s Report:  Eichenburger

                                                     i.     Beginning Bank Balance: $510.05

                                                      ii.     Last meetings totals:

1.     Tip basket: $11

2.     50/50: $11 - $5 = $6

3.     New Members: 0

4.     Paid Steve & John’s: $30

                                                        iii.     Other income or expenses: $50 outstanding check

                                                       iv.     Bank Balance: 447.05

c.     Website Update:  Alexander

                                                     i.     Updates were delayed by Hurricane distractions and others

                                                      ii.     Watch site for updates on new events.

                                                        iii.     No further virus problems.

                                                       iv.     Namezero as our registrar may change.

III.           Old Business:

a.     Name: Rex Business: Found an old tape of an early event.

                                                     i.     Alexander will burn a DVD and some highlights on CD.

b.     Name:  Jim Collins Business: Discussion of Origin of the club

                                                     i.     Consciences was that it was formed no later than 1985

c.     Business:  We should put some flyers at TAE and Bab Geon

                                                     i.     Alexander volunteered to approach both

                                                      ii.     Also ask them if they would be interested in being sponsors

d.     Name: Anderson  Business: VA Fall Classic

                                                     i.     Anderson handed flyers at Langley Speedway for the VFC

                                                      ii.     Meet at Steve & Johns 09:30 for any VWs and drive in together.

IV.           New Business:

a.     Name: Anderson… Business: VA Fall Classic

                                                     i.     Entry fee of $20 is all for the charity.

                                                      ii.     Come in a group and meet at Steve & John’s

                                                        iii.     Alexander will be helping to park trailers anyone is welcome to help.

b.     Name: Eichenburger  Business: Fall Cruise on the Colonial Parkway

                                                     i.     This would be in place of the regular meeting, November 2cnd.

                                                      ii.     Meet at 4pm at the Patriot Square Shopping Center.

                                                        iii.     Alexander will make a flyer page online.

c.     Name: Burney, Sorrell & RexBusiness: Pumpkin Run

                                                     i.     Talked about going to Mathews Co, and about making it for Nov.

                                                      ii.     Settled on a smaller run locally on Oct 18th.

                                                        iii.     Bill Sorrell will pick the place and we’ll meet at Walmart on Rt. 17.

V.             Open Forum:

a.     Name: Tom Norris Subject: VCOT activities

                                                     i.     Flyer available for the Nov 9th event

                                                      ii.     Info about some VWs for sale.

b.     Name: Anderson. Subject: NPN Grishum Library 60’s event Next Oct.

                                                     i.     They asked for anyone with a 60’s VW to come by.

                                                      ii.     It’s not till Oct 24th 2004 but they are getting ready early.

                                                        iii.     Let Anderson know if you can participate.

c.     Name: Sheck  Subject: VW’s for sale

                                                     i.     Told of a friend selling a ’63 bug-truck

                                                      ii.     Burney and others joined in with stories of other VWs for sale (Joe’s Garage on the other side of Elizabeth City.)
