New Business

Rob Alexander – Bugout coming to Manassas again Labor Day weekend which will be our meeting weekend. A motion was made to move the meeting to the 12th of September to allow those who wish to go to the Bugout the opportunity to go without missing the meeting. The motion was passed by all.

No formal plans were made to go to the Bugout as a group. If anyone wishes to make arrangements they can post on the website forum or let one of the officers know so we can put the word out.

Bill Sorrell mentioned he is the proud owner of a ’71 Ghia. Stop by his house to check it out. It has a lot of really cool toys to look at! Porsche 901 5 speed gearbox, 4 wheel disc brakes etc.

New Member! Kenneth Perkins and his 72 Super Beetle are now Members of our fine club. A great addition to our group

Webmaster Report

4th of July parade Pic’s are now posted. Thanks to Shek for taking them and providing them for posting. They are in high resolution so you can download them and have some nice shots on your computer.

You are now also able to go to the forum and make your own album. Good for posting your own Pic’s of events if you wish to.

You can also now select avatars to go along with your username on the forums. For those who don’t know an avatar is a small picture that can show next to your username for all your postings on the forum.

Old Business

Ike brought to everyone’s attention that it is now time to pay the dues to the Virginia Corporation Commission for another year. It is in our budget to pay these dues each year. The purpose is to validate our club as a not for profit club. A motion was made to pay the dues as planned and was passed by all.

Matt Hagist checked into the T-shirt order. He has a contact that can do the Shirts with the club Logo embroidered on the shirt for around $10 to $12 each. He needs a logo in electronic format to provide to the maker. They are not going to charge a setup fee for us to do these shirts, which is a considerable savings.

We are in the process of updating club member information. Please ensure we have your correct e-mail and phone number to be notified of club activities. This information will not be shared with anyone outside the club under any circumstance.

Open Forum

Rob Alexander has set up a starter button in the engine compartment of his thing. This gives him the opportunity to start it from the rear while tuning it without having to go to the front of the vehicle. Just make sure it is not in gear before attempting to do this!

Robin Picket said her son is almost there on getting his ’61 on the road. It just needs a couple of more things to be done. E-brake cable for one side and a little annoying deal with the clutch and brake pedals not wanting to work properly. Any help anyone can give will be much appreciated.

Took in $20.00 for the tip basket and $19.00 for the 50/50

Paid out $9.50 to Casey Hagist for the 50/50.

Door prizes were given out after the 50/50. Carl Yeargin won to candy filled beetles. Ike  Eichelberger won a die cast Beetle as did Jo Hoard. Congrats to all and thanks to Rob for bringing the items in.
