Old Business

The Toys for Tots show at the Bughouse was a big success and the weather was great. Rob Alexander took first place in the “Thing” class with his Thing and also won most rust award! Matt Hagist took second in the “Baja” class with his Super Beetle Baja and also got the award for the biggest oil spot! (Watch out Matt the EPA might be watching you now…) Bill Sorrell got second in “Stock Modified” with his ’64 Bug. No special wards for Bill. There were a lot of really sharp cars at the show.

Coliseum Holiday parade is 20 November. Parade set up will be at 8:30 AM , the parade begins at 9:45 AM

Jeff Pickett suggested more people should be putting out flyers to generate more club interest. He is out of them and would like more. Bill said he would make some copies and get them to him

New Business

Bill Sorrell and Ken Perkins suggested a club gathering at Sonic on rte 17 across from Walmart Saturday the 20th of November at 7:00 PM. Just show up and have a burger if you’re interested. We would like to start doing more if this, especially next spring when it warms up. Hopefully there is still a few more days that will be warm enough this year to get out as a group.

Club Officer Elections are coming up at the January meeting. If you are considering nominating someone for office we will do that at the December meeting and voting will be held at the January meeting for all those nominated.

Shek went to look at a ’71 Ghia a fella had for sale and said it was beyond hope unfortunately due to the rust issues. The man wanted $600 for it. If someone has a Ghia and needs a parts car it would be worth a couple hundred bucks for a good parts car.

Everyone commenced to having their picnic lunches by the river and a big discussion ensued as to who had the most VW’s. There was clear winner but it was down to Rufus and Shek as the two who had the most. Bill was a distant third…

Picnic adjourned and everyone departed. We then got to tow Greg’s Ghia home due to his persistent gremlins in the transmission
