Club Minutes Sunday February 6, 2005
President Bill Sorrell called the meeting to order at 605 PM with 18
members and one guest in attendance. Bill read the January meeting minutes and
they were approved as read.
Charlie Eichelberger gave the treasurer’s report, with a balance
of $315.95 as of January 10, 2005. Ike further stated that the Peninsula Car
Club Council dues of $10 dollars is paid. Rob Alexander stated that the 2004
audit was not prepared in time for review prior to the meeting but the audit
committee could review after the meeting.
In our website
report, Rob further stated that calendar updates are forthcoming.
New Business:
Bill asked for volunteers to head up our various annual events and serve as a point of contact.

4th of July parade/Yorktown Day

Bugout 57 and 58 and potential club outing to Fort Boykin in Isle of Wight
County.
Rufus Burney
led a discussion on the pros and cons of the VCOT raffle car project, which
spurned ideas of a club charity project. Members were asked to think of ideas
for discussion at the next meeting.
Rufus will follow up on a possible club restoration project.
Carl Yeargin
mentioned that our club by-laws were amended to prohibit donating to a charity.
Bill to review bylaws.
Greg Anderson
mentioned the WHRV radio Car Talk show on Saturday mornings, asking for
volunteers to man the telephones. Greg to follow up at the next meeting.
Old Business:
Rob reported that t-shirts from the 2004 Fall Classic are still available at a
discounted price of five dollars. Available sizes are large and up. Matt Hagist
obtained an estimate of $8 to $8.50 for embroidered club shirts. Rob and Bill attended the Fall Classic
meeting and reported that the 2005 dates are October 21 through 23. Rob further
stated that there is new legislation afoot in regard to acceptable exhaust

Open Forum:
Rufus is pursuing a project of making wide-5 adapters from old brake drums, to
aid mounting and balancing wide-5 rims on modern mounting and balancing
equipment.
Shek mentioned
an article by Ray and Tom on the merits of old vs. new Beetles.
We concluded
the meeting with the raffle of anniversary prizes, cake and ice cream, and the
50-50 drawing which made Joe Hoard $28.50 richer. Tip basked netted $21 for
Steve and John’s.
Meeting was
closed at 730 PM.
