Chart/Horoscope Calculation
What I Need From You
Please keep in mind that this page describes chart calculation only. A horoscope is a chart made up of astrological symbols, which are shorthand for human behavior and motivation. Having your chart is nice, but if you know nothing about astrology it will be unintelligible. However, if you want to take the chart to another astrologer, or if you're a beginner/student interested in learning interpretation, then a simple chart should be right up your alley.
If you want a chart calculated, then the first thing I need from you is your birthdate. So far, so good.
The next thing I need from you is your birthplace. My program's atlas database is quite extensive, so just the name of the town and state where you were born should be enough. However - please let me know the name of the county you were born in (for US births) because like-named cities and towns in the same state are not as uncommon as you might think. If you were born in the countryside, please send me the name of the nearest town.
The last thing I need, which is perhaps the most difficult, is your birthtime, as accurate and precise as possible! Without it I cannot calculate your rising sign, which is one of the three points in the Trinity of personality. Please do not tell me you were born "around 6:30", or "sometime between 3 and 4". Tell me your birthtime to the minute, if at all possible. And yes, a matter of minutes makes a big difference, especially if you want to dig deep into your chart. You can probably find your birthtime on your birth certificate, but this is not always the case. If your birth certificate does not list your birthtime, ask your mother or father, who will probably remember. If this is not an option, try older siblings, aunts, or grandmothers. If you still come up against a brick wall, try locating a copy of your birth announcement - perhaps your parents have tucked one away. If all this fails, then try contacting the hospital where you were born. They may have a record in their files. If you're really determined you might try city or county governments, although I wouldn't expect much. If all else fails, we can try a process called rectification, but this is a procedure of last resort, because it is time-consuming and its accuracy is very much open to debate. Besides, it cost extra.
