5th Annual Quail Creek Run

The 5k Run and 5k Walk are on a USATF certified course. The 2k Fun Walk is for casual walkers as well as dogs and their owners. All proceeds from the event go to two beneficiaries: Green Valley Food Bank and The Animal League of Green Valley (TALGV).
Once again, thanks to the generosity of our Sponsors, the Quail Creek Resort Community promises another stellar event. We expect the usual highly-competitive individual and friendly competitions, plus there will be valuable raffle prizes and a superb spread of post-race refreshments. Dogs will receive a special event kerchief.

Special Entertainment: Music by Craig Pirrello from CS Productions. Raffle Prizes: All entrants and raffle ticket holders (over the age of 18) are eligible for the prize drawings. Additional raffle tickets are available for purchase. Fees: $25 – Registration Fee $15 – 18 years to 6 years (mail-in or in person) $30 – Day of Race – Children 5 years and under-free. – Dogs walk for free. Includes: Race entry, T-shirt (T-shirt deadline 1/26/09), post-race refreshments and 1 Raffle Ticket. Online registration will be available until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009. T-shirt deadline is January 26 - All registrations received after this date will not be guaranteed a t-shirt at the event. Course: The 5k race course is a loop with great views of the Santa Ritas and is generally flat and fast. 5k Course Map The 2k Fun Walk course is a gentle stroll through a residential part of Quail Creek, also affording views of the beautiful surrounding area. 2k Course Map Age Groups: All ages welcome. The 5k Run and the 5k Walk will have 10 age divisions: 18 & under, 19 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70 - 75, 76 & over Dogs: - 2k Fun Walk • Special events for dogs are being planned. • Dogs must be leashed for the duration of the event. • No retractable (Flexi) leashes. • No leashes longer than 6’. • Rabies vaccines must be up to date. • One dog per walker. • No dogs “in heat” • Event officials reserve the right to refuse aggressive dogs. • Clean up after your pet.

Awards & Prizes: Awards will be given to the top two male & female finishers in each age division as well as the 1st place overall male and female & masters (over 40). Prizes will be given to the 1st place overall male and female Special Prize Man and woman costumed most appropriately for the day! After the Race: A variety of refreshments will be available.
