These photos were taken from our neighborhood in Nebraska on May 15th 2005, between 2 - 3 am.  Yes you can get Aurora in Nebraska!

 

            

These photo below is of our house, you can see the Aurora above in beautiful pinks and purples.

          

Aurora are a natural phenomenon caused by solar wind hitting the  earth's atmosphere and interacting with it's magnetic field. Typically aurora are very rare in Nebraska, but they can be sparked by strong solar flares such as the one that spawned this aurora.
