Bellow you will find pictures of Mars that I photographed in 2005.  Mars is the 4th rock from the sun and perhaps the most earthlike of the bodies in our solar system.  

Mars - noticed the south polar cap and the darker maria.

This photo was taken by me on November 1st, 2005 just after it's closest approach, but before opposition.
