The Sun, our star, the star which makes life on earth possible. Without our
sun, we would not have the light and heat needed to live, earth would be a
frozen ball, forever in the deep freeze. These are some photos I took of the sun
using my Orion SpaceProbe 130ST after I modified it, using an Orion full aperture
solar filter. CAUTION: never look directly at the sun. These photos where
created using a high quality solar filter which protects both your eyes and equipment.
Looking at the sun for even a moment through an unprotected telescope, can cause
permanent eye damage.

These photos were all taken in 2005, near Solar minimum. It is interesting to
see the variety of Solar activity even near the Sun's minimum activity.
