A view of the Orion Nebula, a cloud of ionized gas glowing from the UV Radiation from hot stars at it's core.

The Great Orion Nebula

This photograph was taken by Me on November 9th, 2005.  This is a combination of two different photographs. The first exposure was 45 seconds at ISO 400. The second exposure was 60 seconds at ISO 3200. These were then "denoised" with neat image, and then merged in Photoshop Elements.

Here is a view of Orion where you can clearly see the Trapizium stars resolved, 4 stars at the heart of the nebula.

This photo is actually one of the source images for the first image.  This is the 45 second exposure.
