The Whirlpool Galaxy, also known as M51.  This is beautiful galaxy. This is my first attempt at imaging it, I hope to produce higher quality photographs in the future.

This photograph was taken on July 4, 2005. This galaxy is found in the constellation of Ursa Major, also known as the big dipper.
