Doreen Demeyer, Proprieter Doreen has been involved full time in the costume industry for nineteen years and sewing for over thirty years. She has been involved in re-enacting for over 17 years. Doreen’s preferred period is 1750-1785 though she can do clothing for any period. Shown here in her 18th century Riding Habit complete with metal lace trimmed tri-corn hat. Her normal garb while running her shop is that of a seamstress, more common and work oriented. Doreen is also accomplished in Bobbin Lace making and often does demonstrations. STOREFRONT
The store consists of a 12x12 foot Marquee using approximately the front five feet for the display area and the remainder for living quarters and fitting area as needed. The display table currently in use is of mahogany and will be accompanied by an identical but shorter version to display an additional six mannequins. Other additions are planned for future expansion as the need demands. MINIS
The miniature mannequins shown have been documented to the early 1700’s. Samples of current fashions were displayed in this fashion, customers then ordered full size versions to be made. Additional mannequins are now presented to better display the variety of styles for the appropriate periods. The needs of all classes are displayed, from Regimentals to working class, every day clothes to fine ball gowns and gentlemen’s suits. |
