Shop at Second Street and Brown Avenue opened in 1910; it was
the site for boxing and wrestling matches, too.
In 1937, Architect Frank Lloyd Wright set up his "winter
camp" at the foot of the McDowell Mountains, creating what
is now known as Taliesin West.
In 800-1400 A.D., the Hohokams farmed the land we now call Scottsdale
and built over 200 miles of canals to support their agrarian
lifestyle.

Web Cam - A sleepy view of the Civic Center about four
blocks from me. In stark contrast, the web cams in neighboring
Tempe show almost constant activity.
 We're all dependent on our local
utilities and municipal services. When they fail, our very health
and safety are immediately at risk.
Because of some past history
with people who worked there, I believed in my electric utility.
Now I own a personal generator.
