School Outreach Update:
We, the chairs of the Outreach to Schools event, contacted 36 schools in the area, and we had a positive reaction from many; however, because most schools already did a general cultural month in June, they were unable to participate in our event this September. We are fortunate to have both Byron Elementary and Hunt Elementary participate in the poster contest. This will be the committees first year doing a poster contest for Hispanic Heritage Observance, and a first for these two schools also. Together we will continue making this years school outreach program a fun and valuable learning experience. Everything is falling into place nicely, and we are very fortunate to have two schools participate. Chances are that this event will have a wonderful outcome that will inspire more schools to participate in next years observance with the Hispanic Heritage Committee here at RAFB.
