Notes

One of the first things I do each morning is bring up this page and then start at the top of one of the sections and click on each link, in turn, for the Web Pages I want to open at that time. And then, when I am through viewing that Web Page, I just click on the X in the upper right corner of the opened page to go back to this Favorites Page.

Some of the on-line news organizations require one-time registration to use links to their Web Sites.  For example, you may be required to register to access the New York Times, Washington Post, Washington Times, and the Wall Street Journal Web Sites.  When you register, the news site stores a cookie on your computer's hard drive so that when return to the site it remembers who you are and lets you access that news organization’s Web Pages.

I don't do a weekly clean up of my cookie files.  However, I have found that after my weekly use of one my cleanup utilities I have to reenter log on registration information the next time I use the links to the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal Web Sites.

As a related matter, you may find that the Washington Post, or another link on this page may not work for you, or may stop working for you.  If a valid link on this page stops working for you, right-click on the link on this page, select Copy Shortcut to add the URL to Windows Clipboard, click to add a New Internet Explorer or FireFox Browser Tab Web Page, and then paste (Ctrl-V) the URL from the Clipboard into the Address Bar of that page. And then, when the page is open, you might want to consider adding the page to your Browser's Favorites list.  FYI, here is the URL for the Washington Post.  http://www.washingtonpost.com/

A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is a type of Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that specifies where an identified resource is available and the mechanism for retrieving it.  In popular language a URL is also referred to as a Web address.
