Photos of Bossons Heads on our walls

"The 'Bossons Company' are probably most renown for the producing of their 'Character Wall Masks'.  These are models of heads and figurines that were made of chalk and produced in high detail.  All models were hand painted.  One of the reasons that Bossons are so collectable is because of this high detail, and realism. ... Chalkware was a popular form of decorative accessory in American homes during the 19th century."  [Note. The Bossons Company is and English company and their Web Site indicates that their models are made of chalkware, which is a misnomer for figures made of plaster of Paris.  The original chalkware was hollow, breaking and chipping easily, and although the Bossons 'Character Wall Masks' are not hollow they are easily damaged.  Our 'Character Wall Masks' have been through several moves, and I bought them for Marge almost 40 years ago.]
