WELCOME TO RAMONA'S HOME PAGE

My husband Robert (Bob) and I are retired and living in the "Valley of the Sun" in Mesa, Arizona. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 1998.. We were both born in Kansas and lived there until 1967 when we moved to Southern California. We remained in California until 1992 when we moved to our present home.

After 5 years of service to his country in the United States Army, Bob became a machinist in civilian life. He was one of a now almost extinct classification "General Machinist" (which means he could run any machine in a machine shop). We have a son-in-law who Bob trained as a machinist many years ago and now he talks about machines run by computers and things which were unheard of a few years ago. I worked full time as a bookkeeper (spell that office manager, secretary, flunky, gopher, etc.), almost always in a construction related office. My favorite job was with a General Contractor who built "Custom Homes", ranging from $20,000.00 guest houses to million dollars mansions in Country Clubs in the Palm Springs area. We have five children (all born in Kansas), thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

We presently live in Dreamland Villa, a senior citizens retirement area, with plenty of activities available. When first moving here, Bob was active in the Art Dept. acting as Art Coordinator for four years. He was one of a group who started a computer club in Dreamland Villa in 1995 and was on the board for 4 years, serving two as president. If you visit our web site Dreamland Computer Club you will see some of his oil paintings as well as more about Dreamland Villa.
Ramona has developed an interest in Genealogy since retiring and seved for three years as Treasurer of the Genealogical Workshop of Mesa, Inc. She has remained on the board since then as a director. She is also webmaster for GWOM. (see the link to the website below) She was a member of the Dreamland Villa Posse Associates (a support group for the Dreamland Villa Sheriff's Posse) and since 1997 has volunteered to enter Sunday School and Church attendance into the records each Monday at the Red Mountain Methodist Church.
