The team uniform includes a team suit, cap, t-shirt, and warm ups. All swimmers will be required to purchase a team suit. Swimmers will be provided an equipment order form to purchase these and additional items they may wish to have. The Robinson Swim & Dive team is in the process of selecting its official brand for 2004-2005. All suits, bags, and warm-ups worn in dual meets must be from the selected official manufacturer. In addition to wearing the warms-ups on deck at meets, team members will wear the warm-ups in the team photo and occasionally to school on the day of a meet. Alternatively, swim/dive team members may be asked to “dress up” for school the day of a meet, which would include shirt and tie for boys and comparable attire for girls. Swimmers/divers may wear the competition suit of their choice at championship meets. During team practices, swimmers should also have fins and a kickboard available for drills. Bags and parkas will be issued to all team members prior to the first meet. The bags and parkas will be the property of each swimmer for as long as they are on the team and are to be used only for Robinson Swim & Dive meets and practices. Swimmers and divers are responsible for the care of the bags and parkas issued to them. Team members are expected to replace lost or damaged bags and parkas as the result of negligence on their part. Bags and parkas must be returned prior to the winter banquet and will be redistributed the following year. Bags should be wiped clean and parkas should be dry cleaned VHSL Regulations about the Appearance of Competitors In addition, Virginia High School League (VHSL) rules are very strict about uniforms and the appearance of competitors. Each year debates and disqualifications occur at the district, region, and state level over the rules about modesty, advertising, and jewelry (see section on VHSL regulations below). These rules are enforced even at dual meets, however. Robinson almost lost a meet one year when the modesty of a relay team member’s attire was challenged by a stroke and turn judge. The relay team’s points were critical to winning the meet. So, please read the rules and take them seriously. VHSL Regulations require the following:
