The "Deer Hunter" Started life as a 1966 Corsa coupe that was restored by Ned Madsen.
In 2000 he started a three year restoration of the car
Ned's Story On his way to the
2004 CORSA National Convention in Lexington Kentucky, a deer jumped in front of the car and totaled it.
After the car was totaled by the insurance company, Ned bought it back and found an excellent
body to put his restored drivetrain into . . . this was done during the
Big Switch I purchased the
remains of both the blue and silver car from Ned and had almost enough parts to put the Deer Hunter
back together. I added a 140 hp engine and 4 speed transaxle from a parts car to create a running, but
still wrecked Corsa. A front clip was picked up in Wichita Falls, Texas and it provided a fender section
and hood for the Deer Hunter. Some cutting, welding and grinding later the coupe received fresh paint
on the wounds and went to a new home in Kansas City.
