This page is dedicated to those brave men including 2 of my Great Great Grandfathers who fought, died and or were imprisoned for their beliefs.

    This research was started because of my G G Grandfather Mitchell M. Burford.  I had suspected, but was not sure that he had participated in the War of Northern Aggression.  It was not until I was in my 30's that I was able to find any information and have since been able to find out quite a bit more. Of course the search will never end, and I will continue to fill in information for the entire 42^nd and not just his Company. This will allow all of us to get more of a feeling for what it was like for them to live in that time.

I am also including other Civil War information as I come across it, and have, and will add information sent to me from the users of this and other sites.

Added more genealogical information for people in the 42nd and some others..

I have added information on the Burford Cemetery in Independance Mississippi. 

I added information about one of my other G G Grandfathers in the war.
