My Atari Flashback 2 Hack

The temptation was just too much.  The Atari Flashback 2 is out and is cabpable of playing original cartridges!  How could I NOT hack mine?  It just had to be done.  And to make matters worse, my hack just HAS to be the most authentic.  I dug out my Best Electronics catalog and found the various parts I needed, but who can wait for that pesky shipping?  I've got to have a beat  up 2600 I can sacrifice for this noble cause!!!  So after a lot of soul searching I decided that it is better for the 2600 to donate some of its vital organs so that I can play my cartridges using video inputs rather than those pesky RF inputs (The Jr. hack was never exactly right).  So I dug out the Dremel, hack saw and spent way too much time.  Below you can see the before and after shots.  I still need to add the black and white switch and the difficulty switches as well as glue the new faceplate stickers on.  I'll try to get more pictures of the inside once I'm finished.

Before the surgery

The patient is recovering well!

The Flashback games still work!

Cartridges work too!
