In December 2007, Reall World Systems installed version 1.0 of its Security Analysis and Monitoring System (SAM) in the vacation home of a local Family. The temperature is updated every two hours to a web site See Live Updates. The home temperature can be monitored 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world. “This system has provided me with huge peace of mind.” The owner has exclaimed. “Believe it or not, it has already saved me thousands of dollars in possible water damage. The system had been installed for less than a week when I noticed the temperature slowly dropping. I still questioned its reliability at that point, but I contacted the oil company as a precaution. The service person arrived during the day (a savings in night and overtime rates). The boiler had in fact shut itself down. The damaged part was replaced and the boiler was running again. The temperature outside was less than 20 degrees. This would have spelled certain disaster in just a few more hours.
