The Jupiter 2 kit by Polar lights is well thought out. The problem of movie magic with the lower deck has been address. There are problems I think could of been easily corrected like the command seats. I know they used the old Aurora tooling to make this kit but they should have included the correct seats. The seats are a easy problem to deal with and I will be selling my version of the seats here in MY Store. For those of you that would like order them. Below I will be showing tips and assembly of my Jupiter 2. I will be doing both the painted finish and the chrome version.
In these pictures here inspecting the contents of the boxes
In the next set of pictures I started this two model project with the non-chrome version. First I cut out all the pieces then sanded and fit the pieces of the landing struts. The next thing I did was lay out the marks to be drilled for the hole for the lower electronics.Once I had the holes drilled then I used a Dremel tool to cut out the center.
This next picture Is where I start painting the outside of the lower hull.
In the next picture, shows where I sanded and filled the spots where the landing mounted to the lower hull. These spots will show as the floor of the lower deck. When I finished I had also masked the hole for the electronics for painting.
Now I have to paint the floor color. I first covered the plastic with flat black Later the floor colors in flat. I will later add a semi-gloss finish Also you have to remember if using electronics plan the way it will place during this time of assembly.
Next I cleaned up the hull section then painted as you can see in these pictures This is end of the work I have completed so far I will be updating this section In the near future.
This is the electronics I use to light this kit. They come two parts upper and lower piece. the next few pictures you will be able to see these in place.
