Crossing into Canaan to
end of Old Testament
Death of Moses
Deuteronomy 34:1-8.
Realizing that his work was coming to and end, Moses gives his farewell address to the children of Israel. This farewell address takes up the entire book of Deuteronomy.
After he has finished speaking to the people, Moses goes to the top of Mount Pisgah where God let him see all the Promised Land before he died.

Joshua 24:29-30 Joshua dies.
The Judges
Judges 2:10-23 The period of time from the death of Joshua until the crowning of Saul as king of Israel is known as the time of the judges.
God told his people to have nothing to do with the remaining inhabitants of the land, but to utterly destroy them. Instead, the children of Israel would make alliances with them and even took their daughters to wife and worshipped idol gods.
This brought the judgments of God upon Israel in the form of bondage and slavery to other nations.
In their distress, Israel would turn back to God and call upon Him for help. At this time God would raise up a deliverer. During the lifetime of this leader the children of Israel would remain faithful and true to God. After this judge would die, Israel would relax and turn back to sin again. This is a cycle that is repeated a number of times.
