The Holy Ghost is poured out and Church established.
- The disciples go to Jerusalem to wait for the Holy Ghost.
Acts 1:4-14
- Descent of the Holy Ghost.
Prophesy Joel 2:28-29
Fulfilled Acts 2:1-18
- The Church is established.
With this outpouring of the Holy Ghost on this group of believers, the Church was born.
The word "Church" means an assembly of called out ones. During this church age God is
calling out, through the Holy Ghost, individuals from both Jews and Gentiles to form a new
body (the Church).
Paul refers to the forming of the Church as a mystery. The mystery was the purpose of God
to unite the Jews and Gentiles into a new thing, the Church, which is His body.
Galations 3:28-29, Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 3:11
The first message of the first Church.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom
ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:14-36
Those who heard this message asked, What shall we do? Acts 2:37
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
The gift of the Holy Ghost was not just for the apostles but for everyone all down through the
ages. Acts 2:39
What about Matthew 28:19?
- What did Jesus say?
- Matthew 28:18-20 All power is given unto me in heaven and in
earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always,
even unto the end of the world.
- Mark 16:15-16 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned.
- Luke 24:46-48 Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ
to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission
of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning
at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.
- There is no contradiction in the scriptures.
- There is no contradiction in what Matthew, Mark, and Luke wrote and what Peter
spoke on the day of Pentecost. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not names, however,
they are titles.
- Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by
him.
- Since baptism is both word and deed we must use the name of Jesus.
- After the Church was established on the day of Pentecost everyone was baptized
in the name of Jesus that was baptized.
- Acts 2:38-41 The Jews on the day of Pentecost.
- Acts 8:9-13 The Samaritans.
- Acts 8:35-39 The Ethiopian eunuch.
- Acts 9:17-18 Saul baptized by Ananias.
- Acts 10:45-48 Gentiles baptized by Peter.
- Acts 16:11-15 Lydia.
- Acts 16:29-34 Philippian jailer.
- Acts 18:8 Crispus, chief ruler of the synagogue, and many Corinthians.
- Acts 19:1-7 Ephesians rebaptized in the name of Jesus.
The Holy Ghost.
- Is it necessary to receive the Holy Ghost?

- Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
- What is the purpose of the Holy Ghost?
- Colossians 1:27 The Holy Ghost is actually, Christ in you, the hope of glory.
- Romans 8:9 If we have not the Spirit of Christ, we are none of his.
- John 14:26 The Holy Ghost is our teacher.Isaiah 28:11-12 It is to refresh us and cause us to rest. John 16:13 He will show us things to come. Acts 1:8 The Holy Ghost gives us the power to be witnesses unto Christ. Romans 8:11 His Spirit will quicken our mortal bodies to be raised to meet him.
- Do all speak with tongues when they receive the Holy Ghost.
- The Apostles did. Acts 1:13, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 11:15-18
- The mother of Jesus did. Acts 1:14, Acts 2:1-4
- The Samaritans did. Acts 8:14-20
- Cornelius, kinsmen, and friends did. Acts 10:44-48
- Men at Ephesus did. Acts 19:1-7
- Paul, writer of over half the New Testament did. Acts 9:17-19, I Corinthians 14:18,39
- Mark 16:17 Jesus said,These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues
