Love Your Brother


Don't bear a grudge

The Lord has instructed us not to bear a grudge against God's people and not to be angry with a brother without a cause.

Leviticus 19:18

Feed your enemies

God even tells us that if we have captured an enemy that we are to give them food and drink.

Proverbs 25:21-22

Don't be angry without a cause

Jesus tells us that a person is just as much in danger of the judgement for being angry with someone without a cause as he would be if he committed murder.

Matthew 5:21-26

No more eye for an eye

Jesus changed the law concerning an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.

Matthew 5:38-48

Jesus instructs us not to judge the faults of others

We are to judge ourselves and our own faults first. Then we might be able to help our brother judge his own faults.

We must be cautious when judging others because we will be judged in the same way that we judge others.

Matthew 7:1-12

We are to forgive others just as we are forgiven.

Jesus tells us that we will not be forgiven if we don't forgive others. As a matter of fact He says that we will be delivered to the tormentors if we refuse to forgive others.

The New Testament tells us to love and forgive.

John 13:35, Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:12-15

Confess and be forgiven

If we have complied with God's word by examining our own selves and forgiving others, we can go to Jesus and confess our sins believing that he is faithful and just to forgive us.
