We are the Children of Light
First we must consider
the warning given to us by Jesus.
Luke 13:24-28
First we must consider the warning given to us by Jesus that there is only one way in to heaven and that
one day the door will be closed after which no man will be able to enter into the kingdom of God, but will
be thrust out.
Be ready and watching.
Matthew 24:42-44
We are instructed by Jesus to be ready and watching for him to come back again for his people. No one
knows when Jesus will come again so we must get ready now and keep ourselves ready and waiting so that
we will not miss his return to take his people home to heaven.
No one will know the day or the hour.
I thessalonians 5:1-3
We are told that that we will be able to know the season but no one will be able to know the day or the hour
of the Lord's return for his people. He will come as a thief in the night and the only people who will go with
him will be the ones that are ready, waiting, and watching.
As it was in the days of Noah.
Genesis 7:1-23, Matthew 24:36-44
It will be just like the day of the great flood when Jesus takes his people out of this world. Everyone was
going about their normal business not paying any attention to Noah. Noah was a preacher of righteousness
telling everyone to get right with God and to get in the ark because a great flood was comming. No one
believed Noah until the flood started, but then it was too late because God had shut the door and no one
could enter the ark and be saved. All were lost except those who were ready and waiting.
We are the children of light.
I thessalonians 5:4-8
We are not in darkness because we have God's word to teach us how to be sure we are ready, waiting,
and watching for his return. If we follow God's word and keep ourselves ready, this day will not overtake us
as a thief in the night and we will go with him to heaven. We are considered the children of God and God is
light. So we are the children of light and that light will keep us ready to meet God and we will not be left behind
when he returns for his people.
The people of God
will escape the Great Tribulation.
I thessalonians 5:9-11
We are told in I Thessalonians 5:9 that the people of God will not have to go through the time of the
great tribulation because God's people are not appointed unto wrath but will obtain salvation by our Lord
Jesus Christ. By looking at the signs of the times we can surely see that he must be coming very soon. Are
we ready for him ?
