dividing the word of truth."

End Time Prophecy

70 Weeks of Daniel
Daniel 9:24-27

First 69 weeks of Daniel (Daniel 9:24-26)

This period is divided as seven weeks plus three score and two weeks or 7 + 62 = 69. Each week is equal to seven years.

  1. The first seven weeks or 49 years was the rebuilding of the temple and the city of Jerusalem. This started in 445BC (Nehemiah chapter 2)

  2. Then there are another 62 weeks or 434 years until Messiah be cut off (Christ Crucified).

  3. 29 AD the death of Christ ends first 69 weeks of Daniel. (Daniel 9:26)
(This date is due to calendar error. Jesus was actually 33 years old.)

Seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9:27)

Daniel's vision showed him what was in store for the Jews but he did not see the Church Age that divides the 69th week from the 70th week.

The Church Age

First 2 days of Hosea 6:2 (29 AD to 2029 AD)

This is the 2,000 year Church Age. Each day of this period is equal to 1,000 years(II Peter 3:8).

The Rapture

The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
  1. I Thessalonians 5:9 tells us that the Rapture of Church will happen before the Great Tribulation.

  2. Matthew 24:27-28 The rapture will take place so fast that most people won't even know that it happened. We will immediately recieve our glorified bodies and be caught up in the air to meet Jesus and our old bodies will be food for the eagles. This describes the First Comming of Christ.

The Great Tribulation

Men's hearts failing them for fear (Luke 21:26) Famines and earthquakes (Matthew 24:7)

Return of Jews to Palestine (Isaiah 11:11-12; Ezekiel 37:16-28) Peace Conferences(I Thessalonians5:2-3)

Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse (II Timothy 3:1-7,13) Wars and rumours of wars (Mark 13:7
  1. Matthew 24:29 tells us that the Great Tribulation will take place after the Rapture of the Church.

  2. Seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9:27) is the 7 year period called the Great tribulation. The seven year tribulation period has to start at least by 2022 AD so that the Jews can live in peace in the Lord's sight for 1,000 years when He returns.

  3. Matthew 24:32-34, Luke 21:29-31, Hosea 9:10 Israel is the Fig tree. These scriptures tell us to watch Israel and we see Israel starting to prosper again that the Rapture and the Tribulation are close at hand. Remember that Israel was admitted to the U.N. in 1949.

Second Coming of Christ

Is Jesus Christ really coming again? If He does
come again, will I be ready to meet Him?
  1. Matthew 24:30-31 tells us that Jesus will appear in the sky after the Great Tribulation as He gathers everyone together from one end of heaven to the other that was caught away in the Rapture. All the tribes of the earth will mourn when they see Jesus coming back to earth with His elect.

  2. Revelation 17:14 Ttells us that the called, chosen, and faithful will be with Jesus when He returns.

  3. Revelation 19:11-16 describes the second coming of Christ after the Tribulation.

  4. Matthew 24:36 No one knows the hour.

  5. Matthew 24:37-39 As it was in the days of Noah.

  6. As it was in the days of Noah.
Compare Genesis 6:5-11 with Matthew 24:37-44, Philippians 3:17-19, Luke 17:26-30, Luke 21:34-35, II Timothy 3:1-4, II Peter 3:3-7.

    1. Eating and drinking. Philippians 3:17-19
There is nothing wrong with eating and drinking. These are a normal part of life, even though some people go to the extreme and make a god of their belly.
But the carnal person is only concerned with feeding his natural body. There is little indication that the people before the flood had any interest in talking to God (Praying) as did Adam, or sacrifice to God as did Abel, or walk with God as did Enoch.

    2. Marrying and giving in marriage. II Peter 3:3-7
Marriage is not sinful, nor is it wrong for a man to give his daughter in marriage.
In Genesis 6:1-2 it appears that the godly line of Seth began to intermarry with the carnal line of Cain. Their behavior had degenerated to the point that they had become scoffers and doubters. They had forgotten God's judgment on Adam, Eve, and Cain because Lamech boasted of slaying a man with no regard for judgment. (Genesis 4:19-23)

    3. Buying, selling, planting, and building. Luke 17:26-30
There is nothing inherently wrong with buying, selling, planting, and building. Humans were developing skills and talents in many areas. Lamech's three sons excelled in making tents, raising cattle, music and industry. They now had music for entertainment. Their simple nomadic lives were becoming sophisticated, materialistic, and corrupt.(Genesis 6:5-13) God said, "I will destroy them with the earth.

    4. They knew not
Matthew 24:38-39 - Life was going on as usual, everyone was engaged in their normal activities, the day before the judgment looked like any other day to them. There was no advance warning on exactly when judgment would come. So shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

    5. The same extreme wickedness
II Timothy 3:1-7 clearly describes our generation and declares these characteristics to be signs of the last days. Just as the flood came upon the unsuspecting people in the days of Noah and destroyed all those who did not make themselves right with God, so is the judgment of God coming on the generation of the last days. There will be no warning of the exact time of his coming. (Matthew 24:36-37)

    6. Noah prepared.
Noah was probably a strange looking character, working for many years on a strange looking vessel and talking about an impending flood. Most likely he was the subject of many jokes and laughter. But when the flood came, Noah, who had obeyed God, was inside the ark floating away while the scoffers and unbelievers were suffering the penalty of their sins.

Are we ready to meet Him
if he should come right now?

  1. Is there a longing and an anticipation in our hearts to see our saviour, Jesus Christ?

  2. If there isn't, then let us check up on our lives to see if we are fully prepared for that great day.
