As Baptists, we practice believer's baptism by immersion. Believer's baptism means that we don't baptize babies or young children. (They are dedicated.) We believe that only those who have made a mature, rational, free-will decision for Christ should be baptized. Children in the 5th grade or older are eligible to attend a membership class that lasts for 8 weeks. During the 8 weeks, they learn about sin, Jesus' atoning sacrifice, Christian living and other important topics. There is no pressure to make a decision for Christ or to be baptized, but those opportunities for decisions are provided. We believe that immersion (going totally under the water) is the biblical model for proper baptism.
Below are pictures from our Palm Sunday baptism service when we baptized 2 into the Lord Jesus Christ.
