Welcome to the First
Baptist Church of Meriden web site. FBC is an American Baptist Church with conservative, evangelical and traditional values. Our congregation welcomes all who seek to know God through Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Our church staff includes Dr. Rob Prescott-Ezickson, Senior Pastor, Steven Eidukonis, Director of Music and Mrs. Stacey Czepiel, Minister of Christian Education and Youth.
SCHEDULE
Our Summer schedule begins Sunday, June 28 and will run through September 6.
Adults meet for Sunday School at 9:00 AM. Worship service is at 10:00 AM.
During the church year, we have Sunday School for all ages beginning at 9:30 AM. Our Sunday School is age graded, from birth to senior adult. Our worship service begins at 11:00 AM. Our worship service is a blend of contemporary praise songs, contemporary choruses, gospel hymns, contemporary hymns, and Bible based preaching. Childcare is available for birth through age 5. Our youth also have their own service called LEAP which meets on Tuesdays at
7:00 PM.
We also have a once-a-month Praise and Prayer service. Our next
Praise and Prayer will be on September 11 and will be our preparation for Rally
Day.
MUSIC MINISTRIES
Music is an integral component of our ministry and mission at First Baptist Church. We have 4 choirs including: Worship choir (adults), GENESIS (a contemporary Christian Music choir for youth), Children's Choir, JoyfulEnsembells (a handbell choir for adults and older youth), and One Achord, (a praise band for adults and youth).
CHOIR REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Worship Choir - Thursday evenings - 7:00 - 8:30 PM.
Childrens Choir - Sunday mornings - 9:40 - 10:00 AM.
Joyful Ensembells II (for youth) - Sunday mornings - 8:50 - 9:30 AM.
One Achord - Sunday mornings - 9:10 - 9:30 AM.
GENESIS - Sunday after worship at about 12:15 till 1:15.
FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
Our Men's Fellowship meets for breakfast as schedule permits. Our Men's group sponsors various activities for fellowship, fun and fund-raising. Our Saturday meetings include breakfast, Bible study, prayer, and work around the church. Our Women's Group meets regularly for service projects and fellowship.
Our Youth enjoy their own lounge and is open on a varying schedule. We have youth activity outside the church from time to time. Youth are welcome to invite their friends. Youth Lounge includes a time of Bible Study. Then we break for pool, ping pong, board games
and fellowship. Everyone is welcome.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
We offer a full age graded Sunday School program. We offer 3 childrens classes,
2 youth classes and 2 adult classes. Everyone is welcome and bring a friend along too. Lots of activities are planned each month. Keep up by reading our monthly newsletter, the Spire

UPCOMING EVENTS - LAST UPDATE
6/16/09Vacation Bible School will be Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2.
The time is 6:00 - 9:00 PM. It is open to children age three through grade
5. A light supper is available at no charge beginning at 6:00 PM.
