EXPANDED PRAYER LIST
If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

You can use this guide to pray in various kinds of ways.
PRAISE: Begin by praising God. When you praise God, you adore God for who God is,and God's character. To help your praise, try Psalm 103, 104, 150, or Revelation, including 4, 5, 6, 7. Praise God's love, righteousness, justice, mercy, grace, forgiveness, power and eternity.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for what God has done in your life. Think of life, salvation, family, friends, job, health, freedom, and church, just to name a few. Try Psalm 136.
CONFESSION: Be honest with God about your sinfulness and your sins. Let God search your inmost being, and when God brings a sin to your conscious, confess it, apologize, and repent. Confess also our sins as a church, or as Americans. We are not perfect as individuals, nor as a church, nor as a country. Try Daniel 9.
INTERCESSION: Pray for others whom you don't necessarily know or relate to. Pray for missionaries, the lost, government officials, various ministries of the church at large. Try Ephesians 1:15-23 & 3:14-19. See needs inside to pray for.
PETITION: This is praying for ourselves and those close to us. Pray that God will open your eyes to see God's full vision for your life and your family. Pray for health. Pray for your stewardship over everything God has given you. Try Psalm 106.
LISTENING: This is the most neglected aspect of prayer. Take time to listen to God. You may hear or sense God's voice, you may not. At least take the time to listen to see if God responds.
MYSELF: Filling of the Spirit; Do God's will; Be conformed to the image of Christ; Be a good witness; Be a good husband/wife/parent/child/employer/employee; Be a faithful member of the church; Be a good steward of all that you have given me.
MY FAMILY: Growth in love in Christ, have time together, our home be a haven of rest, comfort, acceptance and safety.
MY CHURCH: Filled with the Spirit, growth in Christ, growth in numbers, faithful witnessing, faithful to mission effort around the world, faithful to mission in community, love one another, forgive one another, work with one another, the Pastor and staff, Boards and Committees, the leaders, the Sunday School, the music ministries, the various Church groups (youth, Women, Men, Bible studies, etc),, the Church in America. and the world.
AMERICAN BAPTIST CHURCHES: ABCCONN, ABCUSA. Pray for renewal and revival in our denomination. Pray for our 2010 emphasis that we will reach 1,000,010 people for Christ and start 1010 churches by the year 2010.
OUR CITY: Pray for Meriden that we will have spiritual revival. Pray for the lost to come to Christ. Pray for our city leaders. Pray that all the churches will do effective mission and ministry in Jesus' name.
THE LOST: Pray that God will create a desire for salvation and come to Christ in faith and repentance.
OUR MISSION EFFORTS:
IN GENERAL: Win the lost to Christ, conviction of the unsaved, minister to those in need.
Efforts here in Meriden: Homeless Shelter, Soup Kitchen, Hispanic Mission, Battered Women's Shelter and other ministries of which you are aware.
Efforts in CT: Christian Centers, new churches, Hispanic work, and other ministries of which you are aware.
Efforts in USA: Christian Centers, new churches, ethnic work, and other ministries of which you are aware.
Efforts around the world: New churches, local pastors and church workers, and other ministries of which you are aware.
FOR MISSIONARIES: Anointing of the Spirit, power to preach, protection from evil and harm, building up of the churches, enthusiastic support here at home. Pray especially for our ABC Missionaries at home and abroad.
THE 10/40 WINDOW: An area of the world with the least Christian influence, the most resistance to the gospel and the highest poverty. Pray for closed countries to be open and unreached peoples to be reached. Pray for our adopted people, the Han Chinese of Laos that they will hear the gospel.
THOSE IN NEED: The sick, depressed, oppressed, discouraged, and other needs of which you are aware.
