There is one
full time and two part-time animal control officers in
Richmond. The hours of operation are from 7:00 AM to
3:00 PM Monday through Friday and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on
weekends.
Off-hours,
non-emergency, calls are referred to the next animal
control officer on duty.
Domesticated
animal calls are received at police headquarters and the
animal control officers are dispatched from there.
The pound,
which is a temporary holding facility, is located at 51
Buttonwoods Road.
