44. GEORGE DEATHERAGE4 (William 3, Robert2, William 1), son of William and Mary "Nancy" (Maddox) Deatherage, was born 21 Aug 1791 [Tyler's Quarterly v. 11 p.252] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. He died 25 Apr 1834 [Family Register] in Rappahannock Co., Virginia.

George married Catherine Waters on 10 Sep 1816 [Family Register] in Culpeper County. Catherine, daughter of Landy and Margaret (Farrar) Waters, was born on 14 Feb 1798 [Richardson, Deatherage Family] in Virginia. Catherine died about the year 1860 [Probate Records] in Rappahannock Co., Virginia.

George was an ensign in the war of 1812. Catherine was keeping a tavern in 1850 as listed in the Rappahannock Co., Virginia, census. She wrote her will on 21 Aug 1856. She mentioned William D. Deatherage, Jno. Landy Deatherage, George Deatherage, Robt Deatherage and grand-daughter Mary Catherine Sears. Her will was witnessed by John Munson and Philip Deatherage. She wrote a codicil in Sep 1857 which was witnessed by Jno. H. Munson and Elizabeth Fant. The will was produced on 14 August 1860 [Rappahannock Co., Virginia, Willbook D, pp.218-9]. Sources

45. ELIZABETH DEATHERAGE FANT4 (William3, Robert2, William1), daughter of William and Mary "Nancy" (Maddox) Deatherage, was born 7 Apr 1800 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. She died on 6 Jun 1886 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252].

Elizabeth married George Buckner Fant on 17 Nov 1831 [Bond: County Record] in Culpeper County. George was born 28 Feb 1790 [Tyler's Quarterly, v.11, p. 252]. He died on 20 Oct 1843 [Family Register] in St. Charles Co., Missouri, of malaria.

Elizabeth was his second wife. George's first wife was Nancy Ann Strother Ficklin, who had died on 24 Jun 1830, near Chester Gap, Culpeper (now Rappahannock) County [Pension]. They were married on 15 December 1815 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252] and had four children.

George was a private in the Essex Artillery during the War of 1812 and was entitled to a bounty land warrant, which Elizabeth apparently received. [Wardell, Patrick G. War of 1812: Virginia Bounty Land & Pension Applications] After his discharge from the militia he lived in Fauquier, Frederick, and Culpeper Counties, Virginia, and in Missouri [Pension]. Sources

46. ROBERT DEATHERAGE4 (William3, Robert2, William1), son of William and Mary "Nancy" (Maddox) Deatherage, was born 14 May 1803 [Family Register] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. He died in 1891 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252].

Robert married Catherine Burr on 22 Jan 1821 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. Catherine was born in 1799 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252] in Connecticut. She died in 1888 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252].

Robert was a farmer. Robert wrote his will on 16 February 1886. He mentioned his grandson William J. Browning, son William R. Deatherage, deceased, grandsons James Burn and Thomas Deatherage, brothers. Robert's will was produced on 11 May 1891 [Rappahannock Co., Virginia, Willbook F, pp.470-1]. Sources

47. MARIA DEATHERAGE MOORE4 (William3, Robert2, William1), daughter of William and Mary "Nancy"(Maddox) Deatherage, was born 24 Oct 1805 [James Moore Bible] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. She died on 7 Mar 1895 [James Moore Bible] and is buried on Rock Hill Farm in Rappahannock Co., Virginia.

Maria married James Moore on 11 Aug 1825 [James Moore Bible]. James, son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Tannahill) Moore was born on 5 Oct 1795 [James Moore Bible] in Virginia. He died on 5 Jan 1882 [James Moore Bible] and is buried on Rock Hill Farm in Rappahannock Co., Virginia.

James was a farmer and a member of the Flint Hill Baptist Church. James may have served in the Culpeper County Militia during the War of 1812. A James Moore was drafted into Captain Jesse Nalle's Company, 34th Virginia Regiment. He served from 30 Mar to 13 Oct 1813. Sources

Thomas married Margaret Ann Browning, daughter of Lloyd and Sumerville (Browning) Browning, 7 Sep 1841 [Bond: County Record] Rappahannock Co., Virginia. She was born about the year 1820 [1850-1880 Federal Census] in Virginia. She was living in 1900 [?].

49. JANE DEATHERAGE WOOD4 (William 3, Robert2, William1), daughter of William and Mary "Nancy" (Maddox) Deatherage, was born 19 Sep 1811 [Family Register] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. She died on 28 May 1885 [Tyler's Quarterly v.11 p.252].

Jane married Burwell K. Wood on 26 May 1831 [Bond: County Record] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. Burwell was born on 5 Aug 1795 [Tombstone]. He died on 14 Oct 1844 [Family Register and Tombstone] and is buried at the Horseshoe Farm in Rappahannock Co., Virginia.

Burwell wrote his will on 13 October 1844. He mentions his four children Mary, William, John and Jane, his beloved wife Jane was named executrix, and brother-in-law Thomas Deatherage to advise wife. The will was witnessed by ThosHoltzman, Robert Deatherage, Walter B. Hackley, and George M. Ryan. The will was received 14 April 1845 [Rappahannock Co., Virginia, Willbook ?, p.?]. Sources

50. WILLIAM ACHILLES DEATHERAGE4 Picture(William 3, Robert2, William1), son William and Mary "Nancy" (Maddox) Deatherage, was born 25 Apr 1814 [Family Register] in Culpeper Co., Virginia. He died on 16 Jul 1899 [Obituary] in Rappahannock Co., Virginia. He is buried at Horseshoe Farm in Rappahannock County. His funeral was conducted by the Reverend W. N. Claybrook of the Episcopal Church.

He married Susannah F. Eastham on 28 Mar 1848 [Family Register]. Susan, daughter of Robert and Frances (Fisher) Eastham, was born 26 Mar 1831 [Tombstone] in Virginia. She died on 11 Jan 1905 [Tombstone] in Rappahannock Co., Virginia. She is buried at Horseshoe Farm in Rappahannock County.

William was a farmer. He was the last officer of the 'old militia" of his district to die. He was a major. Sources

50A. ELLENDER GREEN NORMAN DEATHERAGE FISHNER4 (Bird3, Philemon2, William1), daughter of Bird and Pennsylvania (Norman) Deatherage, was born about 1804 [federal census] at North Carolina. She died after 1880.

Ellender "Eleanor" married a Fishner. He was not living with the family in 1840 and Ellender is listed as a widow in 1880.

The Fishner family moved to Carroll Co., Kentucky, where in 1840 "Eleanor" is listed as head of the household.

51. GRANVILLE NORMAN DEATHERAGE4 (Bird3, Philemon2, William1), son of Bird and Pennsylvania (Norman) Deatherage, was born on 26 Jun 1811 [Wheeler] in North Carolina. He died on 3 Jul 1891 [Wheeler] in Carroll Co., Kentucky.

Granville married Elizabeth Ann Hayden. Elizabeth, daughter of Jeremiah and Nancy (Cross) Hayden, was born on 23 Mar 1813 [Wheeler]. She died on 7 Dec 1870 [Wheeler].

Granville married second Elizabeth Smith on 12 Dec 1872 [Wheeler].

Granville spent several years as a farmer in Gallatin Co., Kentucky. He later moved to Sanders, Kentucky, where he died. Sources

Martha married Epphrodites "Eppy" Rhodes. Eppy was born about 1804 at Virginia [1850 federal census]. He died between 1860 and 1880.

The Rhodes lived in Rockingham Co., North Carolina. Eppy was a farmer.
