Major Projects and Related Activities

 

  •  As cofounder of an Internet Service Company, HomeRelay Communications. Created the departments of Program Management, Customer Service, Test Engineering, and Billing Systems. Designed and developed the system to integrate the customer Registration Database with the outsourced Billing Systems. Directed team to integrate customer billing data and a trouble log into web pages for quicker and more accurate customer service.

 

  •  Managed successful and complex multi-million dollar development programs that produced high-speed wireless and wired communication products (ICs, Board level products and Software) for the set top box market.  Product made it possible for DirectTv and Dish TV to launch their services using small satellite dishes.

 

  •  Successfully planned and managed every step of multi-million $ program to develop and deliver Satellite Set-top Receivers, Modulators and Multiplexors to the Japanese market.

 

  •  Planned and directed the successful implementation of an MRPII (MAXCIM) system at IRT     Corporation. Completed on schedule and within budget. Obtained $65,000 Grant from the California Employment Training Panel to cover the MRPII training costs. Developed a corporate cash flow projection system, reduced Materiel costs and lead times by over 20% in 6 months.

 

  •  Responsible for Rohr Industry’s corporate manufacturing system design to support a multi-plant environment and to provide corporate-wide training, department instructions and documentation.

 

  •  Established the Information Services Department (staff of 10). Developed detailed plans and drove the successful implementation of the facility's engineering analysis, manufacturing and inventory system.

Internet Service Provider specializing in serving Internet appliances and providing low cost Internet access (+75K registered customers).

Co-Founder and V.P. Operations Support – Member of team that founded HomeRelay. Created, hired and managed the departments of Program Management, Customer Service, Test Engineering, and Billing Systems.

 

Conexant (formerly Rockwell Semiconductor Systems which acquired ComStream Division)

December 1994 to July 2000

Semi-conductor manufacturer of communication integrated circuits ($1 billion revenue)

Senior Product Manager (June 1997 to July 2000)  - Digital Cable Appliance Solutions

Led product management for silicon solutions into microwave and cable modem-enabled set-top appliances. 

Program Manager (ComStream Corporation: December 1994 – June 1997) - With Marketing, Finance, Engineering and Manufacturing, created successful forecasts, budgets and schedules for the development of new Integrated Circuits, board level products and SW used in Digital Data and Video Communications to the home over satellite, or cable.

 

IRT Corporation                                                                        March 1992 to December 1994

Manufacturer of high speed X-Ray equipment for automated circuit board inspection.

Director of Materiel and MIS - Responsible for managing Forecasting, Purchasing, Production Control, Inventory Management, Shipping and Receiving, and MIS. 

  •  Directed the successful implementation of an ERP/MRPII system.

  •  Obtained $65,000 Grant from the California Employment Training Panel to cover the MRPII training costs.

 

Rohr Industries                                                                               October 1984 - March 1992

$1Billion subcontract aerospace company specializing in struts and nacelles.

Administrator of Operations Planning and Integration                            August 1990 to March 1992

Responsible for integrating customer product demand, operational and financial constraints and market forecasts into an operationally achievable and committed multi-million dollar master production schedule. 

Deputy Unit Manager                                                                        March 1989 to August 1990

Directed the activities of manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, inventory management and production control personnel. Responsible for manufacturing and organizational philosophy as well as cost, schedule and quality for all of Rohr’s welded parts (10,000 part numbers delivered to seven plants including international). Department budget in excess of $10M.

Supervisor/General Supervisor of Manufacturing Systems                 October 1984 to March 1989 

Responsible for corporate manufacturing system design (MRPII) to support a multi-plant environment and to provide corporate-wide training, department instructions and documentation. Supervised a staff of 12 analysts and performed administrative duties of budgeting, hiring, training and personnel development.

 

Intel Corporation                                                                             June 1982 to September 1984

Administrator of Information Services -  Integrated plant wide inputs to develop the project plan and capital plan to bring up Intel’s newest plant. Established the Information Services Department (staff of 10). Developed detailed plans and drove the successful implementation of the facility's engineering analysis, manufacturing and inventory system.
