I've Got the Epson Blues...

JetPrint Photo Professional Photo Paper, Superior Gloss Finish

JetPrint Superior Gloss: JetPrint sells a number of glossy papers. This is their best. Or at least the most expensive. It also wins a prize for the longest name of any paper I've tested. The paper is very white, and very glossy. Whiter than PGPP, and a slightly smoother surface. About the same weight and thickness as PGPP. A very nice paper, at least before printing. Using the recommended Photo Paper setting, the print comes out of the printer with visible puddles of wet ink (especially in the medium blues), and visible mottling in all the medium tones. Colors are cooler than with PGPP. Image contrast seems a bit high, too. Even after 24 hours, the reticulation is obvious.

Using the backlit film setting, however, it produces very nice results. No puddling, no mottling. The color balance is very close to PGPP. It's a bit less saturated, though.

But once again, Epson's inks fail us. This paper shifts, in the ozone chamber, almost as badly as the original PGPP. So far, though, it looks okay in the West window test.
