ABOUT YOUR LEADERSManoaCliffs8.jpg (279464 bytes)

I am a retired teacher and spend a lot of time during the year in the Hawaiian Islands. I have over a decade of experience leading trips to Hawaii. During this time in Hawaii I have hiked for many years with the Sierra Club, the Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club and on my own. I’ve lead many small groups on hikes throughout the islands. I have acquired an extensive amount of knowledge about Hawaii, which includes great places to hike, snorkel and surf. While the emphases of our trip will be on exploring the natural beauty of the island, I can also help you plan to see some of the sights not included in our package during your free time. Having me as a resource can save you lots of time and dollars compared to what the average tourist will spend. I get great pleasure sharing Hawaii with my friends and people I meet. I am looking forward to sharing this experience with you.PB090138.JPG (303556 bytes)

Our co-leader, Bob Moore, worked for Arizona Public Service and is now retired in La Habra with his wife.  He has been involved with the Sierra Club for over ten years.  He has been co-leading trips with the Sierra Club, including a China trip last year and this year Costa Rica .  He is also one of the leaders of the Puente Hill conditioning hike on Wednesday’s in West Whittier .  He loves hiking, traveling and the fellowship.

HERE’S WHAT PEOPLE SAID ABOUT THE LAST HAWAIIAN ADVENTURE.

This trip was my Hawaiian dream come true! Beautiful hikes were very well organized. Hotel right next to the beach was great. We got to see places that most tourists never visit and also hit tourist attractions in our spare time. Excellent planning! Thanks, I had an awesome time.

If you can only afford to travel to Hawaii once in your lifetime, this trip is it!

Oahu is a diverse and beautiful spot. Our Hawaiian Adventure allowed us to experience the vibrant and lively Waikiki area and the lush tropical forest and incredible views. We had just the right balance of relaxation and exhilaration. From early morning swims in the warm Hawaiian waters to the lush greenery, waterfalls and bamboo forests. We had time to see it all. Our free day was a great time to see the rest of the island. Thanks for making it relaxing, fun and affordable.

It was a wonderful Hawaii trip. Very organized and well-planned trip.

Richard and Bob are outstanding Sierra Club leaders whose thorough research before the trip made everything run smoothly during the trip. Richard is very safety conscious and he provided safety instructions continuously while hiking and snorkeling. Richard’s familiarity with Hawaii, Oahu, lifestyle and nature came through with his history lessons and free time hints. Wonderful trip!

Very organized from the very beginning with enough free time. I felt safe knowing that all arrangements had been made and secure. Richard was always available and able to give “insider” tips on individual outings. He’s very knowledgeable and willing to share and teach. Excellent trip and vacation.

Thanks so much – a trip I will always remember!

Memories for a lifetime.

I got to experience a good variety of activities, especially the final hike. It was great to do this as a Sierra Club activity.
