At Bobwhite Farm I annually cut, & split 10 - 20 cords of Firewood (delivered locally).
This past winter, I got calls from all over New England, & east of the Hudson R, in NY State, for firewood. I was referring many of these callers to other firewood suppliers, when ever I could help them out. Now I started posting names of sources in New England to make it easier for folks outside of my immediate area to find wood.

It is available seasoned (drying about a year) or green (slightly cheaper - rewards you for planning ahead!)
It can be cut to length (18"-24" is standard)
If interested, you can help me load your wood.
Note: My wood includes round pieces from 1 - 5in in diameter, making up no more than 40% of your load.
This is done to guarantee the least possible wastage.
It requires more work to include small stuff (great for getting fire started) but is environmentally preferable.

.
Firewood is generally sold by the Cord
Firewood (according to the OED, Fire derived thru Germanic languages fr Sanskrit):
Earliest written reference fr 15th C England
Cord (according to the OED derived fr Greek): a measure of cut wood, esp. that used for fuel
"Probably originally measured w/ a cord of some kind".
"A pile of wood, most frequently 8' long, 4' broad, & 4' high,
but varying in different localities".
Earliest written references to this usage are fr 17th C England
In modern terms, 8x4x4 = 128cu.ft. (which happens to be the same as the # of oz. in a gallon!)
(& this, of course, is not SOLID wood, but stacked round wood: air/wood total) ~3m
