During the fifties, my friends were potheads. We were twelve when they started smoking.
I know many heads now. My current age is sixty-two. After observing potheads for over fifty years, I have reached the following conclusions:
Heads quickly lose their inhibitions. THC anesthetizes their consciences. They eventually steal, lie, cheat, and live without moral conviction.
They eventually get arrested, are kicked out of schools, flunk out of colleges, cannot keep jobs, and some families eventually reject them.
Heads do not believe they have lost their inhibitions. They are convinced their problems exist because the rest of the world is screwed-up.
Potheads quickly lose their initiative. They may have begun life energetically, but eventually they cannot stay focused on tasks.
Heads do not become successful and maintain success while continuing to use weed. Losing initiative is not their fault. They do not believe they have lost their initiative. The rest of the world is screwed-up.
They eventually get addicted. They do not believe they are addicted. They believe they can quit any time. They sometimes go without weed for a few months to prove they are not addicted. But, they eventually return to it. The rest of the world is screwed-up for believing that they are addicted.
The rest of the world passes them by. They are left out of the good things of successful living. They DO realize that the world has passed them by. But, it is not their fault that they become losers.
They end up with nothing ….. because the rest of the world is screwed-up.
